Press the 'Clear' or 'Back' button on the control panel (button labels vary slightly by series).

When 'Replace Drum?' appears on the LCD, do not select Yes—instead type '*', then '0', then '0' on the keypad.

Wait for the screen to flash 'Accepted' to confirm the toner gear counter has been reset.
